Kindra enjoys spending as much time outside as possible. She formerly coached a recreational swim team and middle school track and field team where she was committed to supporting the diversity, equity, and inclusion of youth on those teams, located within some of the most diverse communities in Portland, OR.
She also worked for multiple seasons as a wilderness trail worker for the U.S. Forest Service. Since then, she has podium placed in multiple long and ultra trail races.
When traveling on daily and long-distance trips, Kindra prefers to do so via bike. She has traveled within four different countries via bike. During her 3-month trans-U.S. trip, she maintained a blog that educated about mountaintop removal coal mining.
Now, Kindra maintains a robust garden and enjoys preserving food from that garden by drying and canning.
